As an exporter of mainly open-field and greenhouse products, VeggieHouse offers a distinctive capability throughout the entire chain from grower to customer. In the role of Export Manager, you contribute to the growth of this young company and are part of a driven and passionate team.

What will you do?

As an Export Manager, you are responsible for achieving profitable revenue through the sale of vegetables and fruits within Europe and beyond. This includes products such as onions, potatoes, carrots, bell peppers, pears, and ginger. You keep a close eye on market developments; based on these, you conduct market and competition analyses and translate them into the right actions. You work proactively and, through experience, know how to achieve the optimal result from negotiations without losing sight of the customer relationship.


Your responsibilities include:

  • Involvement in the entire process from purchasing to sales to delivery to the customer
  • Identifying new markets and conducting market research to understand the demand for fresh produce in various regions
  • Maintaining strong relationships with existing customers and developing relationships with potential new customers
  • Negotiating prices and terms with customers and distributors to maximize the profitability of export transactions
  • Identifying opportunities for new products or packaging that could be attractive to international markets and coordinating the development and introduction of these products
  • Preparing quotes, handling any claims, and ensuring the correct and timely handling of all export documentation

Candidate profile

You are an energetic, ambitious, and driven commercial talent who enjoys working in a dynamic environment. You have a healthy dose of persuasiveness and commercial insight, along with an entrepreneurial mindset. You enjoy working in a team and taking the initiative. Additionally, you excel at acting quickly, being sharp, being result-oriented, and being self-confident.

You also meet the following requirements:

  • You have knowledge and experience in the fresh produce sector
  • You have knowledge of quality differences, customer requirements, sales techniques, and price negotiations
  • You have completed a higher professional education in a commercial direction
  • You live in Northern Netherlands or are willing to relocate there
  • You are proficient in Dutch and English. Another foreign language such as Spanish, Romanian, Polish, Croatian, etc., is highly welcome
